That’s right! Not only do we STILL not even have any benefits so Sam can work, drive, or travel...ready for this?…we were informed yesterday that USCIS will NOT be sending our cases to the Hartford office for processing! Why? They will not say. Our attorney can not get an answer, the incredible politicians who have helped us can not get an answer; not even the USCIS officials in the Hartford office know why! So after ALL this time, we are STILL waiting. And worst of all, besides not saying why, they will NOT even provide a time frame to their own office in Hartford on when we will receive our benefits! So while most of you think we have been “taking a break” because we were starting to live, that s not the case.

Does any of this make sense to you (or anyone?). With ALL the immigration issues in this country, two people who followed the law, are now being held hostage, yet again by this country (despite DOMA being ruled unconstitutional).

HOPE: dumpster we filled last week to make my house OUR home. (With latest update, mind as well have put ourselves in the dumpster….government has.)

Millions of illegal immigrants driving, working, and worst of all, obtaining government benefits from taxpayers like YOU…and two people who always did and ARE following the law, who would pay taxes, and not need government assisted benefits (welfare, food stamps, etc.) Do not let US live free, let the lawbreakers live free. (Sam still does not even have his personal belongings, and has not had any medical coverage in over 3 years now because we don’t have even the simplest thing needed…a social security number for him).

Couldn’t have asked for a better thing to happen upon arriving back at my school for first day with students this week. A student ran up to me in the morning , before classes started, and said “I made this for you once I knew you’d be here.” This is what gets US through it. Remembering why we did this, and knowing that, one day, it will be easier for others.

Please, don’t tell us “well at least there is progress” or “don’t give up hope”….because there has been NO progress and we have NOT GIVEN UP HOPE. What we have given up is our lives, our privacy, our families privacy, our story, all to help others who could not speak up and ask for help because they do not have the support we do from family and friends.

1. Should have never said “we will not have to wait FOUR SCORE to be able to FINALLY have the right to live together!” (But we did figure out we’d have to live to the year 2079 to get settlement owed to us by fraud attorney).

2. Should have never used that damn “roller-coaster” analogy! 🙂

3. Should get a break one of these days…maybe a day off or vacation?…do I dare ask to say at least a night/trip away so we can say we actually did take a “honeymoon” trip?!  🙂

POST UPDATE : To stop any more comments already started regarding my anger at our situation… We are NOT Anti-Immigrant or Anti-Immigration reform! Please read previous posts where we have stated and referenced support and understanding on the issue. (especially with regard to children!!) Read old posts about US before you make and then state judgements on US.  Thank you.
